La Morena Taqueria in Soutd San Francisco

I really like getting the ceviche here. The man taking orders at lunchtime is pleasant and remembers you if you visit often. At lunch when they have a lot of orders coming in, both at the counter and over the phone, it takes a bit to get your food, but I suppose that means it is prepared fresh and with care. The hot sauce they serve on the side is smoky and spicy and very good!

Food was good. I got pollo with tomatillo sauce to go but wish the salsa and guacamole were separate bc everything got mixed up together and wet. But overall good food.

Best carnitas I've had in years! Everything I've tried there has been mui delicioso😋!And there is a whole floor upstairs for seating

Our stop in turned out to be a very pleasant evening. Food was excellent, service was exceptional (thanks in part to Deuromody, we even excused him for that Lakers hat in my wife's GState town). Prices are more than fair. We will happily return.

The food was good, but the lady behind the counter was rude and not very patient. She seems to have a issue with those of us that don't know Spanish too well. Other family members of mine have also noticed this behavior in the past.

The food here is so good. The workers there were very friendly too. And I will be coming here more often

The Nachos Al Pastor are the best! Service is fast and good!

Hate to be like this but beans on tacos is out. Tortillas are dry af. Only good thing is they are big tacos. I'm sure all the other food is good but I couldn't even eat my tacos because it was so dry and didn't expect to have beans on a taco, sorry

Sad I came here. I didnt like it. Burrito dry and torta bread tasted stale.

The place is wonderful and spacious, the food was enchanting and the prices were very inexpensive. quickly, effective service and very friendly waiters. I highly recommend this place.

I've always loved this place

A childhood favorite I recently revisted. With all the Mexican spots in the area, it can be easy to get a burrito, etc. anywhere. However, there's no place like this. Quick, easy, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is the cherry on top with two floors of seating. My best friend who grew up in South City with me (who can find the best Mexican food anywhere) even said it was some authentic grub and she couldn't believe she hadn't been there in her 27 years. Makes me want to go back sooner than later ❤️

This place is perfect with your family and friends to come and have some of the most enjoyable food there! There are plenty of tables left and they will serve your food fast. This place is kind of underrated and I recommend you here to come some day!

Great menudo, huge quesadillas, nice guac and agua fresca for the hot summer days. I like the food, the ligation, decor, and the lively staff.

Went in about 4pm on a Tuesday. Ordered 2 steaks and 1 El pastor burritos. They cooked them up fresh and i was out the door in 10 minutes. They threw in 2 big bags of chips and 3 salsas with my order. These burritos were big AND delicious! Oh yeah, I'll be back for more!!

I'm going to have to give Taqueria La Morena three stars. Reason being the food was good the customer service was not. I already know this so I go there expecting this but the food keeps me coming back

Simply the best Mexican in South City. We come down from SF whenever we can and are never disappointed. Simple, gray menu, lots of Oaxaca dishes you don’t see anywhere else - and all worth trying. Basic ambience, classic taqueria, but it’s ALL about the food.

On the pricey side... had a steak burrito that had lots of fatty pieces, the overall flavor was mediocre nothing special. Won't be going there again.

Homespun Mexican dishes generous ample fair to warm the belly. Burritos enchiladas are popular. Small hacienda house airy flavors from the kitchen.

I’ve tried many taquerias in SF and SSF and I truly think this is the best one. Incredible al pastor, both grilled and spiced well, right burrito wrap, well mixed ingredients, great salsa. Love this place and can never get back to it fast enough. Tortas are also great here!

Quesadilla Suiza was excellent! Full of really good tasting carne asada. If you're looking for a good Mexican meal, priced right, you'll be happy you went to LA Morena.

Service was quick and pleasant. Food portions were large with very reasonable prices. There's a lot of tables, so there's usually not a wait. I also has a lot of natural light and air flow. Nice paintings on the wall too.

I order carnitas Burrito. I order Lengua enchiladas for a friend. I haven't eaten the food as I post this. I'm giving this restaurant 1 start because the lady worker was not wearing gloves as she touches the meat to prepare a meat for another order. Thank goodness the chef who prepares my food wears gloves.

Great authentic cuisine. Not only is the food good but so are the prices and the atmosphere.

Love this place , as always great food for a great price. Servings are worth it. Been coming here for 20+ years.
